plastic Guppy tank as a planted tank.

hi guys, anyone used those cheap plastic guppy tank and make it a planted tank before? well.. i guess im crazy cause i did!
initially.. it was just a filterless tiger endler breeding tank. with a simple 5watt FL lamp and a java fern on wood in it.. and its a bare tank
heres a picture of it..

recently.. i got attracted to a bottom dweller called corydoras Hasbrosus. as they need to be in a shoal of at least 6 to be happy.. i decided to get a hang on filter.. and some lapis sand for them..and also upgraded my lighting to 11watt PL
heres the tank specs now
Tanks size : plastic guppy tank L size 27cm x 16cm x 18cm
temperature: 28- 30C
lighting : 11watt PL
substrate : lapis sand
co2 : excel
ferts: wondergro micro and macro+ every sat and sun after WC
flora: freshwater seaweed on charcoal bamboo, E.tenellus , Lilaeopsis brasiliensis(foreground) and US fissiden on bog wood.
fauna: now is 1female tiger endler(male jump to death..) and 2 cory hasbrosus.. tomorrow will be going down c328 getting another pair of tiger endler and 4 more C.hasbrosus.
tank overview.. due to the plastic tank.. the tank's water looks kinda cloudy

left side, do you guys think the e.tennelus looks kinda messy? feel like changing to hair grass..

nice effort, one thing about plastic tank is that without proper care, the plastic in time will be blurry due to scratches on its surface.

haha budget tank!i have one like that,moss on driftwood,no filter and its on a window ledge for sunlight..growing pretty alright!

Yo! Bro, still active as ever!

Fish keeping will goes a long long way, maybe you can slow down your pace a bit and slowly enjoy this hobby in greater details. What I'm worry is that you are doing so much in such a short period of time that in ten or twenty years time, you might not have any more new things to play with.

For this tank, maybe a smaller size thermometer like the Gex one will fit better visually. Have fun!

By the way, the 4 newts are still with me and I'm now trying to setup a new vivarium tank for them.

haha... that looks much better! Maybe the thermometer can be stuck on the side wall instead of the front wall. Just turn the indicator towards the front and it will not affect the reading.

understand that tank scratches could be potential algae problem. but then again, the condition has to be right for the problem to happen.

this tank has been tore down weeks ago.. changed to a 1ft cube glass tank =)
not keeping endlers anymore..
