Where to get 1.5ft or 2ft cabinet for fish tank

Hi

Anyone know whether there is standard cabinet (1.5ft or 2ft) for 1.5 ft tank? Are those shoe cabinet or cupboard sold in furniture shop/ ikea suitable or strong enough?

I think the overall weight of tank + water + gravel + stones etc is likely to be < 70kg.

Anyone use their shoe cabinet or book shelve to support their 1ft or 2ft tank?

Better to get those cabinet meant for aquarium, easily available from most LFS. If you have budget, you can choose to customize one. You will not want to crash your tank when those inferior "shoe" cabinet collapse after exposure to water splash. I doubt they can hold 70kg for long. Good luck.

Rainbow at Serangoon has quite a few on display. Most of the shops will show you the catalog of Jebo or view online at Jebo website. NA at Thomson has 1 on display too. The materials used for tank cabinet is different from Ikea, Ikea is compressed wood which means it will sink in the middle after sometime due to the weight. Tank cabinet is solid wood not forgetting it is able to maintain its strength even it touches water, compressed wood will be bloated if it touches water.

you can try to look for some tank maker to help you customize the cabinet that you want. Or you can pass them the design that you want. If you want i can recommend 1 tank maker to you.

Well, i got quoted for customisation and they are super expensive..

Found this Juwel 2ft design

Another option is the GEX 2ft cabinet.

Surprisingly, custom made 1.5ft cost 3 times higher than a Juwel cabinet.

For Juwel, I go Petmart to check. According to them, they say Juwel does sell seperately.

For GEX, I believe it is sold in Aquastar.

Well, the GEX 2ft is $120. Juwel is around $130-140. For 3ft, I am unsure..It could be reasonable to custom made 3ft. I guess $400 for customisation? Standard should cost < $200
