    Hi Roland,

Thanks for the link! There are some really fancy shrimps in the site. However, it loads really slowly. If it's your site, can we link some of the pictures over here to share?

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Crusta10 is a website about decapod crustaceans and other freshwater invertebrates. I have mentioned this site on more than one occasion before, if you have been really reading.

The site is run by Chris Lukhaup, Reinhard Pekny, Werner Klotz and Andreas Karge, who have done lots of work with scientists on the taxonomy of shrimps. They go on field trips to collect curstaceans and inverterbrates for scientific purposes and learn about them.

The shrimps on that page are freshwater shrimps. English version is actually available on Custa10, so here is the English page so you can read what is written.

If I remember correctly, collecting shrimps in Sulawesi is regulated, which is probably why you never got to see them yet. Breeding programs would be needed for the collectors to produce them in the masses to be commercially viable.

That brings us back to Roland, whom I presume is from, or associated with Mimbon Aquarium.

Roland, have there been success breeding these shrimps? Are they avaiable commercially now since it is on the Mimbon website?

the site from which the type specimens came is regulated. even the scientific expedition could not get any live samples had they wanted.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
