There had been some discussions on utricularia graminifolia. Check this http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...hlight=chendol

I last saw it on sale at Colourful Aquarium. You may try there. It is a quite demanding plant and to me, it is more difficult than HC but some guys have some luck with it.

The last time i grew it on lapis with JBL base fert...i dose my water with super high No3 though..and both plants exploded with growth (Elatine triandra was faster)!! i got so scared of them i removed them all because almost everyweek have to trim... damn sian. Especially Elatine triandra... use this plant on a 1ft cube and it will spell m-a-i-n-t-e-n-a-n-c-e for you....
I will still go with this "chendol" plant...it has smaller leafage anyway.. so will make your 1ft look better..

Nice looking plant, saw the uncle at colourful growing it having a lawn, he said it is not a difficult plant to grow, same or easier than HC.

Chendol is relatively easy but you need to prevent fauna from digging it out like HC. Sensitive to low nitrogen levels like blyxa, hairgrass and er... most plants actually. [especially those that have little stores...]

thanks for all your replies.. i went to colourful today.
saw 2 of his small tank full of this chendol plant... really nice! but the price also very nice.. a pot that is only around half filled with chendol plant cost abit less den $5.
anyone know if C.hasbrosus will be able to uproot this plant?
    cause my C.Hasbrosus didn't uproot E.tenellus.

Colourful's price has always been colourful but to be fair, sometimess you're able to find some exotic plants there too.

    Hi Evolution,
Cories will dig for food and dig your plants up too. Chendol is very delicate and hard to plant. Use toothpick break and make '^' and pin the plant to the substrate.

ohh.. think i might need lots of tooth pick! haha.. stan, will the tooth pick rot in water? anyway. there will be a "vally" of white sand where there will be no plants. can i train C.hasbrosus to find food only in that sand part?
and also.. i didn't noticed C.hasbrosus digging into my lapis sand for food also..

    Hi Evolution,

From experience the cories can't be trained. lol. It is in their nature to sniff and dig to whip up the food from the substrate.

Toothpicks will rot very very slowly and IMO has very low impact on water quality[don't use fancy mint tipped ones!], you may remove them once the plant has taken root.

cories are simply too cute. if not i'll sell them away.
do you know how long it takes for it to root? and also issit easy to kena algae on it?
heard from colourful uncle that it grows moderatly fast..

It's easy once conditions are settled, it's faster than HC but slower than mosses IME.
