Ugly structures coming up in singapore

Hi Folks

Who designed those grey ventilation buildings along the ECP ( near Benjamin Sheares viaduct exit of KPE ), along Kallang ( near the PA Building ) and along pie ( where the KPE exits into PIE ). They are 3-4 storey, they are grey, ugly and they have an adjoining quaint shaped structure about 10' tall from the ground with ventilation grilles, to I guess exhaust air from the tunnels, ...they spoilt the beautiful ECP sjyline ( no skyline is best )facing the beach, and worse they repeated the same ugly design again at the other places mentioned above. Could not they have at least varied the design at each location so that it can it displeases me at one place, it would not at so many.

It will cost more to make the air duct look like a prickly fruit which will result in a longer ROI period for the Land Transport Coporation.

Maybe, they ran out of time to design something better. Looking at it, there were no effort to camouflage or accentuate the structure to the surrounding. They want to showcase the country to the world but still create eyesore pieces that stick out too well. Chin chai choose a design and implement it on the ground. No artistic value or motif, it does reflect the way the system works here. One size fits all.

Agreed..and maybe even the practicability and cost of maintaining it.

The one near Sims Ave / Geylang has children's painting on it. I don't know if you would call that effort in decorating them air vents.
