They will clean up anything that is on a flat surface. Neritina sp. and Clithon sp. snails actually belong to the same family, Neritidae. So they are somewhat related and are generally referred as nerite snails.
Wondering about Clithon corona. I have read that they are good for algae control, but do they eat green spot algae as well? According to some other web sources Neritina sp. snails are the only known algae eater to consume it.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated![]()

Oh okay.. thanks for the info!
i got a trio of Clithon snails, they seem to be doing a great job of cleaning up the spot algae.. thinking of getting 3 more
Have however also noticed some staghorn and short-strand hair algae growing in my tank.. introduced an SAE sometime back, but my A. agassizi male promptly harassed it to death
Any suggestions on what species of snail, shrimp of fish will be able to help with the staghorn and hair algae?
