pipe that made from lily steam .... just kidding.

It is those in and out flow pipe that were made from glass. Originally from ADA but now a days you can find knock-off version of it.

Though ADA does mention depending on how you place it, it help clearing the surface oil. I personally disagree, it does help but not totaly clean, I'm still using surface skimmer.

Did you turn the centre stick to adjust the flow rate? Try it ... surface skimmer is the most effective ... if only they have surface skimmers made of glass

i did ... but don't really understand it .... and i broke a part of it ... need to buy a new one ...by the way if the center stick is turned all the way to the top ...does it mean the bottom filter does not work anymore and all the suction is from the top ?? or is it the other way round ?

Yes if the center stick all the way to the top, it mean all water coming in from the top. Usually you don't want to do that becuase it may suck the air as well. By the way, those clear tube at the center suppose to be float. You might also want to adjust the amound of air trap inside that tube.
