Hi, the water isn't a whirlpool in my 422...in fact, i think it's just right i was told that the Jaqno CO2 mixer uses a 12mm hose. my Fluval FX5 uses i think a 25mm hose, so the diameter is cut by half...won't that cause a huge drop in flow?

    merry xmas bro,

yeah , but not much will only reduce by 10-12%. you see water to in and out Jaque C02 mixer . The oulet flowrate from 13mm to 25mm hose will be back full flowrate to your 422 tank but to inlet will reduce 10-12% due to compress of flowrate but the pressure of FX5's flowrate is still greater than 2 units 2028 eheim.

So i dont see this will be a problem even you option for a bigger inlet/outlet valves.

Actually, the smaller the hose the higher the pressure..the flowrate will reduce but smaller hose to the bigger hose, the flowrate will be in a full force.

Tried this moumentum before when were working in oil refineries.
    cheers

Cool thanks! So does this mean that this theory will apply for my ISTA mix-max reactor as well? if i have a step down into the 12mm hose and a step up again at the outlet?

you are right this time ...so why not?

Take a try and you will see the difference...remember the outlet used the reducer fitting from 12.5mm to 25mm.

    merry xmas, bro.

ok i'll do the fitting when i have time. for now, i'm temporarily using an Ocean Free glass diffuser in front of my filter outlet to try out misting. I didn't know big bulky glass diffusers floated!! i thought the glass would be heavy enough to weigh it down. Is this a normal occurrance? it's causing me alot of problems!

    Hi bro,

this big bulky glass diffuser has a glass chamber which content of either C02 or air. Thus will help this glass diffuser to float. There is no way to release air unless you use 2-3 sucker holders to secure the glass diffuser down.

    hope this will help you...
    cheers
