I recently planted some rotalas and stem plants and I realized after cutting and trimming them, the end of the stems turned brownish. Is that normal? Will use a normal scissors to trim these plants ok?
Im pretty new at this so I would appreciate any help!

Normal scissors are fine but aquarium scissors might be longer and angled in such a way to facilitate pruning.
It's normal for the tips to the stems (where the incision is made) to brown a little. New branches should grow out of the other stem nodes. Some pictures would help us to advise you better.
