    hi all!
its my first planted tank and i would like to hear your comments on how to improve on the layout. please shoot until happy. hohoho
    specs for the tank are

    HC foreground
    Dwarf Chain Sword background
Dwarf Hairgrass buffer between the HC and the Chain Sword

added 10 sakura shrimp( later realised their all just female cherries fat with eggs) to curb off unwanted algae.

    55W PL light
    eheim 2213
    co2 at a rate of 2 bobbles a second

so far, only the HC shows signs of deterioration but new growth makes up for it i guess lol

looking foward to adding some fish soon but no idea what to add :P I wanna maintain the peaceful nature of the tank. hummmmm...

I agree that the driftwood is a little short. But i really like the effect you have created with the HC and dwarf chain, i think once the HC fills in the scape will look great, sometimes very basic scapes like this can look amazing.

One thing i noticed is that the HC seems to be growing 'up' ? this could be from to little light, you may want to upgrade the lighting if you want the carpet effect.

55w is enough. Just make sure your candlelight is 10000k each time you change your tube and your e-ballast is designated to be 55w and not less.

6500k to 8000k is fine with plants.

I believe you wanted it to look natural by having sword chain plants on the left front but it will out run your HC in no time unless it is intended to be that way.

Consider tying small patches of moss on the wood?

    Hi,
i'd add some stem plant to the left behind the driftwood to point out triangle layout. Also I'd solve somehow that dark place in front of dritwood. But don't know how right now.
    Good luck

    regards

Do remember to trim the E.tenellus runners...
Seems like those in fact is running into the space of the HC.
