Was kinda of wondering lately how important the temperature factor is in a planted tank as I came across a webpage regarding the Aquatic Gardeners Conference 2001 in which it shows how Takashi amano setup a planted tank. He recommends the tank to be lowered to 22 degree celsius for the first week of setup (Impossible in Singapore without chiller [] ) and then slowly raise it up to 25 degree celsius...anybody can explain why? All Amano tanks have temperature revolving around the 25 degree mark..how come?

i dunno abt amano's principle behind those digits.. to me, plants adapt better in cool waters and plus something abt more O2 in cooler than warm water.. (this i leave it to the technical guys to explain) think a planted tank is best kept ard 28-29.. good enuff for most plants

cooler waters oso slow plant growth too.. ( i think )
