    Hi guys,

Decided to take some pictures today since I thought I had a bit of time. Getting the tank set up took longer than I expected, but at least I told myself I'll get some pictures and so here are my first shots from 2008..

Incidentally, made a quick trip to the farm a few days ago and saw them trying to spawn this species in a simple setup with a bowl. Any one has ever spawned this species before? Care to share any comments?

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Benny: Nice and sharp! A beautiful specimen too!

Incidentally, do fish have "catch-lights" in their eyes? Did not see it in your picture.

Wah. Celebrate the new year with a photo?

They must have been terrorized by it's other tank inhabitants: colours seems a bit wash out. Have not seen a neon tetra so close up yet, but the "shoulder" part seems kinked. Is that normal?

As for the breeding part, it is unfortunate that not many enthusiasts are willing to spend the trouble spawning a 20cent fish. At least not in Singapore. I suppose it is similar to how farms commercially spawn other tetras?

    Thanks KF,

The lights were diffused. So no catch light at all.

    Cheers,

The colors are still washed out as the fishes were probably in the tank for only 30 minutes or so.

The kink seems to be normal and on all the tetras. Perhaps it's because these are more matured specimens. About 2 to 2.5 cm long. And they are 50 cents!!

    Cheers,

2008 will see lots of photos from you!!!
Seems like you are short of one more flash. Tail darker than the head.

The upper lip of the fish seems missing! My older fishes have this problem too.

Is this caused by too much inbreeding?
