hi, i currently have a 1.5 feet planted tank and thinking of breeding shrimps.
so, i been thinking, how many is considered too much shrimp, in a 1.5ft tank? 20? 30?
would 20 shrimps results in overcrowding and stress out the shrimps?(planning Cherry or Sakura)
cuurently, the tank have only 2 x ottos.

Don't think 20 shrimps would be consider over crowding a 1.5ft tank. What I find is that a heavily planted tank actually helps destressing the fauna as it provides lots of hiding space or 'privacy'. But if you meant it for breeding, it'll be a headache trying to catch them.

basically with all fauna, keep with the 1 inch = 1 gallon golden rule. I currently have a small nano tank of 3 gallons + and have 1 amano.1 cherry and 1 nitrite as inhabitants.

I have on the conservative side more than a 100 malayan shrimp in a 1.5 ft tank without filtration, you wouldn't see them unless you throw in food and they start crawling out from everywhere. it was only about 20 of them before they started multiplying.

should not be a problem. my 3ft tank reaching 50-60 shrimps. Hard to count the number given the size of the fry. And it just keeps growing.

20 shrimps should not be a problem to start off, bro. Once breeding started, they will multiple at a fast pace. My 1.5ft housed up to 60 shrimps, it is the water temperature that you will not to worry about.

My 1.5ft has well over 100 shrimps of various sizes and also a large freshwater lobster. Think the problem would be to catch them if you have planted tank. But if you intend to leave them there, then would not be a problem.

Ideal temperature should be 25 to 27 degrees celcius but for cherry the temperature does not play a huge factor for breeding. My tank temperature is around 29 degree celcius and they are breeding.Just add a lots of moss and a sufficient filter and you should be fine breeding them
