Have you tried trimming it. Just snip the top off a bit and that would help it spread.

so far its been pathetic growth with it...wanted to create a carpet effect but nothing so far...
its been growing a little taller, and new leaves sprout out into ground way...but i have yet to see runners or any other form of propagation...

My experience with Jap hairgrass, it is slow starter, but once it start it can be quite fast.

huh? snip the tops? thats cool...will try... thanks vurbul bro.

i've replanted all my jap HG after my shrimp and snail died yesterday, feeling quite upset now. Anyways, redid the scape. added stones from biotope, noticed my HG from my previous tank suffered alot, most of them had dead leaves and only a few greens, had to throw 20% of them away. Growing them in emmerse form now, not sure if its a faster approach. Will let you know bengho.

hmm...bro torque why do you think i am bengho? its like the 2nd time man -_-''
haha..but its ok...anyway...good luck to your new tank...yeah i read about your situation...DONT GIVE UP! jia you...all the best.
