hey nice greens, maybe you might want to consider using same coloured rocks.
what is the plant that you have on your foreground?
The 'compactness' of the growth bring out the wild rocks effects
Hi apitso..
I am not sure which one you referring to but there are subwassertang and taiwan moss which is carpeted within the length of the tank. The subwassertang is in between the rocks .Also has java ferns.
The tank now after a minor revamp on the landscape on september....

hey there, thought your first scape looks better, now it looks abit gloomy.
Your plants are all very huge in size, how about choosing some plants that have smaller leaves to provide a contrast?
Adoketa, Breitbinden, Paciquamis, Diplotaenia, Elizabethae, Mendezi, Inka, Agassizi, L046, L066, Crystal Red Shrimps
the Val curtain is impressive..but i feel it is too uniform...making your scape 2-dimensional..
Perhaps try to incoporate more movement into the scape by varying your background a bit....making more forms to lead the eye to your main piece.
I personally prefer your first scape too.
Your hardscape seems a little short or perhaps you will need a little more. There is a gap to the left of the driftwood. Perhaps you can get a nice piece of wood to be a focus point over there.

I personally think that the first scape was quite good, but the background plant need to tidy up a bit...
The second scape is good too... but as some bros mentioned, it seems to be too gloomy. Maybe consider to remove some of the plants that blocks the light into the tank?
nice, it has dark and mysterious allure...![]()

Did you have something to restrict the area for val to grow? I used to have val inside a 2 foot tank. But tore it down due to those val growing out of control, it even send it's runners to the front of the tank.
Maybe anyone can share with us how to deal with it? It's a nice background plant
i just chuck a long piece of straight glass in front of the vallis so it wont have chance to grow towards the front. But no choice on stopping them form growing upwards.thanks![]()
cut those runner that go out of the desire area. You can also use acrylic/glass (prefered acrylic though because it can be bend) to seperate between front and back then cover the acrylic with tock or driftwood, etc. Make sure it is tall enough so that the runner won't be able to jump across
Taken a week back with cam phone..
