thanks lorba and jedimech i`m no expert and have made mistakes over the years but we can all share any knowledge we have learnt. i will post some pictures that may be of interest

thanks for your interest, here is a list of what shares my jewel 1000x50x40
1 silver shark
1 red tail black shark
1 botia loachata
2 cardinal tetras
1 zebra danio
2 serpea tetras
2 malayan angels
2 male swordtails
1 female swordtail
1 pair green sailfin mollies
1 pair golden sailfin mollies
1 sailfin synodontis
1 black paradise fish

they get along very well and of course the red tail black shark is the boss!
its decorated with rocks, bogwood and artificial plants. there is some real cabomba at the surface.the fish in it at the moment must seem very common species because in the this part of the world the more exotic and rare fish are hard to find in the normal pet shops.sometimes i find something different at the few garden centres around here.
