I've had my corys for about 2 months and they seem to be getting very close, they are currently in a community tank, i was wondering if they were perhaps getting ready to breed if so is there anything i should have in the tank to encourage them?

    Hi bro,

My 2 x leopard cory has recently spawn in my community tank of 5 x fantail goldfish, 2 x oto, 7 x yamato planted tank of think windelov forest, nana, amazon sword with moss on mesh carpets. The bottom line is enough cover for them to survive "attacks" i.e. enough leftovers after the prey have their share heehee...

Here is what I noticed from my recent encounters. So far mine spawn 3 time in a period of slightly more than 1 week. The 3 spawns occurred every 3 days interval which coincide with my water top up routine. Mine low-tech tank with Mr Aqua Tornado fan which evaporates the water abut 2cm every 2-3 days and needed replenish. So I conclude that with each water top-up, the tank temperature drops and rise which will induce spawning activities.

1st spawn seem to be biggest with eggs easily a hundred, 2nd & 3rd spawn will reduce by half qty.

    Good luck to your pairs.

Well earlier today i changed 25% of the water and replaced it with water which was slightly colder and now my corys seem to be very excited they won't leave each others side... Hopefully they may breed soon .
