    hihi...

28/12/2007 marks the end of my low maintainese moss/fissdien tank pictures and the start of my 2nd planted setup :>
Below are some pictures of the wood and stones placement..

    fully tank view.

    right side view..

Due to the fact that I do not have enough gravels, left side is very thinly covered with gravels..
As for filter, I am trying out UGF for this setup.. It covers around 1/2 feet by 1/2 feet not sure if it is good enough.. :>

As for the wood, I am still not sure whether wanna tie fissiden or flame moss or "seaweed" on the branches.
Think there is something wrong with the stones..
    Are they too uniformly placed?

    comments please..

if you need lapis...i can give you or trade for stuff also ok...
just let me know.. can collect at cck.

maybe...its too many rocks...i also feel that it should be more tightly spaced for a neater scape.

Wah!! Looks like you are going more into planted setup recently!!

Under Gravel Filter (UFG) for planted setup is more challenging as the filtration will interfere with the rooted plant's requirements for nutrients. Do take note of that.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Nice layout, but i feel that you may want to fill up more sand on the left side as it was help if you want to place some plants in the future.

thank you bro benkho for the offfer, but cck is a little far for me...
I don't really understand your last statement "maybe...its too many rocks...i also feel that it should be more tightly spaced for a neater scape."

Thank ,you Benny for the encouragement!!

now I am thinking if I should use back the same kind of gravels or change to another type...

oh...because you said the rocks abit wierd...so what i meant is that it could be because there are to many small pebbles or that they are not tightly spaced enough..where do you stay?

I stay around Tiong Bahru plaza.. working in NUS..
tightly spaced enough means that I should put though nearer to each other?

you said that the pebbles look weird..maybe it's just that they are all too "look-the-same" for the scape. Try rocks =) i am sure that they will look more natural and "contour-breaking".

    Happy new year!

Looking good! I also feel that using rocks might give the scape a more natural complexion compared to pebbles. Somehow with pebbles, they do not seem to blend in with a planted tank. The imagery of a bare riverbank comes to mind.

    Re: 2nd planted setup

    Some ideas which may help.

    1) I had the same problem too, get some frogbits they help to soak up the Excess ferts
if yours is a new tank if not jus dump some stem plants in to float around for the same effect.
If you want i can pass some frogbits to u, not alot though.

    2) Light exposure reduce if you start to see algae

    3) if yours is a mature tank maybe do 50% WC ( water Change)

4)See algae , dun wait liao do manual removal 1st.

5)Yamatos really help alot for algae , Malayans also. IMO any algae eating shrimp in large enough quantity will do.
Pls take note not to use any Liquid fert. that contain copper. Anti Alage is a shrimp killer also so dun use if u intent
to introduce shrimps in your tank. Snails will eat algae too, if u see snail breeding jus leave them be they actually help
    to eat waste and algae.
