Hi Simon,
Nice choices of wood and their layout. I love 'em.![]()
Looking good! Hope to see some critters inside the tank soon. Do you mind posting a shot once the water has cleared up? TIA!
Cheers!
Benetay

thanks
I will try to do an update more frequently during cycling and at least once a month after that :P

the forum should have a reminder option![]()
There is always a personal reminderShouldn't be a problem for me to remind you all the way till i see apisto inside the tank.
Cheers!

Simon, its good to see you back in action again. Join in the apisto fever, like what I have done to my new 4 ft planted tank!![]()

soon, once my 4ft is stable, I drop in a couple

as promised
Tank on first week, dose with ADA step 1 and green gain after 50% water change.
ps. think I need oyama paper![]()
Simon.. think almost all the rocks will be covered over when the tank matures.

that's one of my intention, want to use them for my apisto to spawn. Hopefully they can dig up a cave for themselves![]()
I like that idea, didn't think of that! Nice cosy un-interrupted breeding behind the thicket of plants & behind the rocks. If they decide to breed there i'm sure the apisto will dig a trench for breeding.
Just a thinker, instead of 2 pairs how about a quad(1m3f)? or 2 males 3 females? Don't even need to worry about the other females attacking the fries if both of the female spawn.
Let the tank mature, seems promising.
Cheers!
Benetay

hopefully, the tank will florish in the intended manner. shall add more rocks in time to come when I can find suitable ones. I still prefer the natural way instead of adding pots for apisto (even though I have plenty)
Definately a nice looking tank but for some reason the frontal driftwood seems abit too straight for the look that you are trying to achieve.
thats just my opinion =)
Great use of plants

perhap it is the lighting, the right side has a slope toward the lefty. Anyway, my scaping also changes with time like your's![]()
hahaha yeah i'm never satisfied with my scape always itchy to change -_- and looking to buy new materials

misread your post, the frontal driftwood may be too straight, but I like it where it is, it creates depth.
I have also added 50 T.espei and a pair of A. gibbiceps in, who is now creating havoc with my yamatoes (unfortunately, hardly any chance to take a shot of him, too many hiding places and tracking him in the tank isn't easy, should have shot him in the photo tank first, sigh)

are you going to plant anything or tie some ferns in the middle of the branches of driftwood ?
seems like a bit bare now.![]()

Have to wait for the plants to settle down and grow in, then decide for more plants. But right now, no intention as yet.
