was just wondering what the ideal conditions for breeding agassizii double reds are? and how can i lower the ph of their water? i've added black water extract but the level can't seem to go below 7.0...read in a thread tt using tea bags help...is tt true or was tt meant as a joke? i've noticed tt the male likes to sneak up on the female and take pecks at her, initially she would run for cover when this happens but now she can't really be bothered, but i've noticed tt there are slight tears on her caudial fin. though her black markings have become darker, she doesn't seem to want to turn to lemon yellow...sometimes,they seem to get along, swimming or staying put side by side or relatively close to one another...is tt a gd sign?

dun worry too much abt getting yr water down... in theory, so long as they adapt to the environment, its a matter of time.. but if u want, u can try indian almond leaves, wash, put into a pail and aerate till it turns brownish then add to the tank... the female will only turn yellow once she is ready to breed... peaking is a normal, to establish the pecking order

I feel that making the water so dark is really a real turn off . Can't even see the fish.
    Cheers!
