i checked with bioplast on this about two years back.
i think mr. tan quoted in the $200+ range for a 4/5' size.
but this may increase as base metal prices have soared since i asked.

will check with bio plast... I have drawn a sketch and will check with some steel makers to see if the price can be cheaper? Anyone interested as well? I'm making for 120 cm x 60 cm tall (backet width 15 mm for up to 15 mm glass). (see pict 1, the rectangle one). Maybe we can order together to get better price..

I've got a similar one from Amzi sometimes back. His is flexible and can support 2 feet to I think over 4 feet tanks(maybe 5 or 6 feet). Using it fot my 2feet tank but keeping the spare rods so that it can still be used if I upgrade my tanks. Too bad Eco-culture had stopped operations. Dunno if you contact Amzi, will he be able to help you. When I got it, it was not very expensive.

Bros, I'm trying to confirm the specs with the maker. They have given the rough qoute and will be using reinforced Aluminium material. I have choose 2 designs. The 1st is the one already in the first post (the first photo) and the 2nd is ADA grand solar stand design (the drawback is need to drill holes on both sides. Please help to give comments which one I should go with that looks nice?

Or should I use ADA stand design but make it just sit on top of the tank glass? Those who are interested to get as well, please comment so we can follow the same design and order from the maker as well Must patent it leh hahaa..

Bro why not use something like the pictured attached. By the way it wasn't my setup. It was taken from the hydroponic website, can't remember where though. So mod please let me know if I can't post it here.

You can easily DIY it using those metal rack material sell in hardware shop for extra strength.

i am interested in getting the ada stand that sits on top of the tank, my tank is a 4 ft btw. one more questions is how heavy can the rack withstand? weight of the rack and the light on the glass will it cause the glass to crack?

One thing about the ADA design and above also is that both the side is blocked by the rods. I think I will choose the 3rd option. Drawing the sketch now.

Dun worry, the shop is a marine aquarium shop. They have been making it for quite sometime now and they told me they uses aluminium. Should not be heavy.

Bro, I bot from him lah but too bad for 4 ft, needs extra connector to join 2 horizontal beam together and when hanged my lights, it bends as such. However, it's suitable for 3 ft and below as only 1 rod is needs as the beam.

You might want to watch out for the width for the stand? Which is your glass thickness? I saw you put it as 12mm. Is your tank glass thickness 10mm?
