Dec 23, 2007. When one of my outdoor friends called me up and told me that someone found a giant pitcher plant in the countryside of western Sarawak, both of us decided to go together to find it using 4-wheel-drive vehicle.

We found out later that giant pitcher plant is Nepenthes bicalcarata...a rare species in western Sarawak. The leaf is at least 1 meter long !!! Big plant!!!

Then, we went to take some pictures at Kampung Semada. The riverbank of Sungai Barai (blackwater) is flooded & the forest became flooded forest.
