    hi guys,

im planning to remake my 3ft and planning to make it easier to maintain by using moss only and driftwood. i have been thinking for awhile and feel that if whole tank only one type of moss, it will look weird right? so you guys mind suggesting what moss i can use for whichever part of the tank?

    foreground or lawn-spiky moss?
branches-dont know what to use to have better effect. what moss look better when tied on dw than use on lawn?

    currently the tank spec is:
3x36W( but now only use 1x36W as i didnt really bother about the current setup)
pressurized CO2 using internal reactor at 1bps
temperature:26C, seldom drop or increase. highest ever is 27C. cooled using a fan, but not those kind you see at LFS, much more powerful.

off-topic: anyone having problem with your spiky moss? my spiky moss are browning recently. dont know whats the cause of it too. temperature in that 1ft tank is 24-25C and only cherry shrimps live inside. using direct sunlight too.

i was considering using white sand for a future setup of mine, but lately i've reconsidered as fish poo and algae growing on the sand will be very obvious and ugly

quite true. but where can i find those gravel or rather bright sand alike gravel ? the size of lapis sand in my 3ft is rather large and not even, so doesnt look so nice.

my 1ft tank used to have algae on white sand but think after it stabilise, all gone and now clear. or is it due to the cherry shrimps? hmmm...

Yup you are right about this, happen to mine. Poo can be suck easily during weekly water change but algae is headache. It grow on the sand and it photosyntensis, generate O2 bubble and slowly float reach the top and the bubble burst, and you will find fne sand all over the place
The solution is add shrimps, I add Yamato but can't have apisto inside

You can get this fine sand from NA
