water change is the key. Do more frequent water change to induce spawning. Give them media to lay their eggs on.

Oh one more thing, DO not stress them by staring at them too much. They prefer privatecy =)

When i got the time to breed them and i want them to lay eggs, i'll change every 3-4days 50% of the water, this will induce them to spawn.

I do also cover my tank when i wan them to breed, to prevent any sudden shock when i enter .
    Cheers!

Wah Benetay, reading ur post makes me feel like giving it a try at breeding apistos. If I were 2 get a 2ft tank, can I set it up as a planted tank 4 them 2 breed? I may want 2 use Eheim internal filter, will the 2008 be enuf? I also has a spare 2222 lying ard, could I use this iso getting the 2008?

BFG: No problem, it's actually good to setup planted tank for apisto to live in, 2x2008 will be sufficient if your bioload is low. If you just intend to put 1 pair of apisto inside, then it's more then enuff. Breeding apisto isn't that real difficult task..Give it a try!

I don't think it's a great idea to put in a pair, Cory cats are egg hunters, while tetra will be fry eaters. If a bigger tank like a 4ft is not use, then it's really challanging for the parents and the rest of the tank mates.

oto and sae still quite okay with apisto.
    Cheers!
