First timer 2ft planted!

Any comments help me improve my tank!
The right side I dont know put what so I left it blank with some riccia

very good first try, most of us never get this type of results on our first go.
I do have a suggestion, give up the riccia and go with the glosso. You might want to centralize the main piece leaving both sides empty with just a foreground plant.

thanks thanks ! i revamped this tank 3 times b4 i got the results i wanted really alot of work man! if you notice on my left side got jap hairgrass , lol i not sure which one should be my carpet, but currently now glosso outgrown the hairgrass, the hg like not growing like that

for hairgrass, you need to give them a trimming to help promote new growth. Usually, it will take a few months before the HG covers an area, that is also the reason why we tend to plant more in a tighter interval

your glosso probably going to cover the whole tank before the hairgrass even start to propagate. Wit correct confition, glosso is a weed

If the lighting is not strong enough yr glosso, will tend to grow up tall, however it may even grow out of control..

As for Riccia the only trouble is when it time to trim, you will see it floating around the top of yr tank

from the looks of things, the glosso is growing laterally which is a good sign. Glosso needs trimming to keep them short and growing more leaves

For the glosso, even if it is growing laterally, give it a trim once a while. They will put out smaller and more compact leaves and runners. Give that very compact foreground look.

Pretty nice. My first tank never looked quite as good as yours.
I'd remove the lawn of riccia if it were mine and just let the glosso claim that area. Also what is the alien looking plant infront of the moss covered DW. Doesn't look like its aquatic to me. By the way on your last pic..what is the blue eyed fish at the bottom right? The one with the black and yellow bands on its body.

that plant infront is a Cyperus spp. It will grow out of the water, eventually and that fish is a Clown Killifish, Pseudepiplatys annulatus
