Not true. I have one of these on my tank and it is working fine for the last 6-8 months I think. The temperature reading fluctuates between 26 degree to 25 degree. maybe you have loaded the battary the worng way round?

I still prefer those analog termometer, the one with red color liquid in the middle. I don't think we the accuracy.

mercury thermometer is still the best.. accurate and can last very very long if you don't break it..

I had initially thought the thermometer was faulty as the temperature doesnt change. It was only when the chiller kick in that I realise the thermometer has accuracy of only 1 degree!

The last time I used a 1-degree-accuracy thermometer was when I was boiling water in a chemistry class!! I have since bought a GEX...

Probably this cheap thermometer has a small operating range say between 24-30 degree any lower or higher temp cannot be registered by it. What temp did you set your chiller at?

That's the point. With such a small operarting range, why would I want a thermometer with one degree accuracy. Imagine a body thermometer with such accuracy...
