For background, I could only think of C. becketti. For foreground, C. parva.
Because I have both for back and fore.![]()
I'm playing around with replacing the stem plants in my nano tank with some easier to maintain crypts. It's a 25cm cube tank. Besides Crypt becketti, what else can i use as a background (max 20cm height) and a midground (about 10cm in height?) plant for my tank?

C.parva is too small for my midground i'm afraidi already have a jap hairgrass foreground. i'm looking for a midground plant
what is a word that is synonomus with small?? pygmy.... *hint* *hint*
Hmm is there a Cryptocoryne pygmeus?
How is Crypt. x willisii?
just googled and found Crypt. pygmeae that grows to 25cm max...hmmm
perhaps i could have Crypt. pygmeae as my background and Crypt. x willisii as a midground, since the latter grows to 15cm max?
now to find out where to obtain these crypts locally
C. x willisii although the length of stem is long about 10-15 cm, it will stay very low, the stem will bend greatly to lay low. Not sure if its because of my strong lights, they are all very low (3-10 cm at most) in my tank. More suitable as foreground as such.
cool that will actually suit my requirements for a midground plant as this is a 25cm cube nano tank, so my midground is probably the foreground in most other tanksthanks! hopefully i can order C. x willisii from one of the LFS around
I got my first batch from colorful (all 4 pots) although the uncle does not even know it's x willisii. Then I order another 7 pots from Biotope. I think colorful no more already, can try biotope.
Hi O2bubble,
Do you have a photo to show how does the C.W. look like as foreground plant?
