How to prevent Green Spot Algae (GSA)?

How do I prevent GSA from forming on my tank's wall? What caused algae to form in the first place? I only on my tank's light 6hours everyday.

if I remember corectly increase the KH2PO4 dossage help. Someone also told me that UV light help.

I never try both method though. I do have green spot algae but manageable, clean it once a month.

Do some search at algae section, someone asked the same quesion before.

I used to have rapid GSA but after I increase co2, potassium and phosphate and introduced horn snails and butterfly suckers, they reduced alot

If I dose this KH2PO4, will it be harmful to my shrimps? This KH2PO4 will bring down the nitrate level?

KH2PO4 will not & has nothing to do with lowering nitrate. More forumers will be able to help you if you are willing to provide details of your tank parameters.
