Wa Richard you have been collecting lots of goodies recently. Can show us picture of the whole setup?
Hi,
I just got a pair of Pelvicachromis Taeniatus Nigerian Red and have been trying to get a photo of them. So far the couple have been rather uncooperative, hiding in the cave and refusing to come out. So I just
shoot them in their cave. Will update when I get some better photos.
Regards
Richard

Chong Yu,
hahaha simple setup lah, a 2 ft 3 tier rack, 4x1ft cube tank and 1x2 ft tank. These are for the 2 pairs of A. cacatuoides, 1 pair of A. veijita, 4 N. caudopunctatus and 1 pair of P. Taeniatus. And 9 more tanks are for my discus. Will try to get a photo tomorrow.

Chris
Are they juveniles? Oh my god, you've got 17 tanks.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
haha that is one house full of tanks. i think you can set up one Singapore Armoured Battalion in your house already. hahahahahaha...... interesting fish you've got there....

Lee, iwishweallcouldwin,
Thanks. Most of the tanks are for discus, the dwarf cichlid tanks are new additions this year. Thanks to illumnae who infect me with the apisto virus
Chris, the pair of P. Taeniatus Nigerian Red really shy, always hiding in the cave whenever I go near.

Just give them more time Richard. Once they get used to you, they'll be bolder. My discus (which is suppose to be very shy) has been biting me recently whenever I put my hands in to clean the tank. Maybe it's because of the fries but they never bite me before when the fries are smaller. Go figure.

Nice westies Richard, feed them well and let them do all they want....
Slowly the color will develop deeper after they are acclimatised and comfortable....
You'll see a deep red cheek![]()

Thanks Eman, first time keeping these.
When they arrived they have lost their color and looked dull.
Now they are slowly regaining back some color, can't wait for
them to be fully colored and swimming about instead of hiding in the cave.

Congrats Richard. Looks like they're doing well.
Are they still very shy?
Chris
YiXiang, Chris,
Thanks, they are settling down, still like to hide in the cave, but when I put a mirror in, they go crazy, going round and round the mirror and flaring at it. When they flare their color is beautiful.
Ang, get them settled down shoot some pictures.

Richard,
Don't put a mirror in there-lar. Look so artifical. Try to get them to flare some other way.

The female has red belly, good news soon??

Luenny, that's the only way I know to get them to flare. Maybe next time I put the mirror outside the tank.
taygu, I am new to pelvicachromis, so not sure if that is good news. Got to go read up more on them.

Hiya Again,
I currently breed the Pelvicachromis pulcher and albino.. I also have P. subocellatus and P. taenitatus "Nigerian Red" which havent bred yet... I think the red bellies are a good sign of breeding behaviour. Also the female will shake in front of the male. Fun fish to watch!!
