Hi guys, with the recent flux of discussion on macro, I have decided to organise another. But this time round, we shall head to macritchie.

date: 20th Jan (Sunday) or if majority want 19th Jan
    time: 9am
venue: Meeting at the macritchie toilet, we shall explore the macritchie nature trail.

The trail starts from the main entrance in macritchie reservior and goes around the entire macritchie nature reserve . But I think we should start things slow, we shall end at the Ranger station in Sime forest, approximately 6-7km. Then we head out to venus drive trail

Attire: dress light with comfortable shoes
things to bring: plenty of drinking water, tripod/monopod if you wish, but I suggest leaving anything heavy at home.

can I see a show of interested hands?

Me, sure but can we start earlier. If we are going to walk for just long distance, I prefer to walk before noon.

don't worry, you will be under the shade most of the time, too early and you get too little lighting into the undergrowth. We can start at 8.30, but I think it is too early especially for those who need to travel to the place. See what the rest say

you guys have fun. I am planning to do some photo documentation of rare carnivorous plants in some friend's collection.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    Hi Simon,
According to your post, we're suppose to meet at macritchie toilet but end up in Venus Trial correct? For drivers I suppose we shall park at macritchie right? So how do we get back to Macritchie at the end of the trip to get our cars? Is there a bus to macritchie from Venus trial?

IIRC, there should be a couple of buses near there. Number 52 and 851 comes to my mind.

    Luenny, you coming?

Hope to see some pictures from you Richard! Don't keep the lens in the dry cabinet for too long.

    Can't go no macro setup

Who needs a tripod? Since i don't have a lens at the moment. PM me if you're interested.

    Tripod : G1157 gitzo(CF), ballhead Kangrinpoche Nb-2a.
    Cheers!

Good question, get me pondering over that as well .
Let me think about it and I will update this thread. There is bus from Venus drive back to the main Macritchie entrance, however, it is a hassle. Alternatively we can meet at the venus drive access and explore the sime forest trail instead, in which way, we will still walk back to the same carpark to leave.

shadow, you can also take 855 from your place, it will also go to the new meeting place.

New update, change of meeting place and area to explore.
Meeting place: Venus drive carpark entrance
time: 8.30am (we will explore an interesting place, if you guys behave )
area of exploration: Sime forest, starts from the ranger station to a stream along Rifle range trail then back. Almost the same distance as the initial plan

    water refueling at Ranger station.

check Map below for meeting place
