High I have 5 juvenile discus in my 3ft community tank.
one of the smaller one has big chucks of its fins missing and it does not
join the group for anything at all (ie feeding swimming)
I've observed but there are no bullies nipping at it.
I was wondering if it is a kind of diesease and is it contagious
should I remove the fish immediately.
    pls help

    thanks so much

    hi penny23

when was the group introduced into your tank....you mentioned community tank besides your discus, what is the population of your tank, and what type of fish?

prior to purchase, did you noticed the so called missing chucks of fins?

Check for NO2 and NO3 in your tank...at the mean time salt(aquarium salt) your tank 1tbsp to 5 gallons of water and keep the dosage there for at least 3 weeks. When doing water change, you may have to estimate the percentage volume and replace the salt loss.
