Well i got sick of not being able to do much aquascaping in my 2 foot tank so i talked the folks into letting me swap it for a 3ft.

Up here in Newcastle its impossible to get your hands on any ADA products so last week i took the day off work, headed down to Sydney. While i was there i checked out the Sydney Aquarium ( wasn't overly impressed, there seemed to be quite a few sick fish ) and after that spent a hour trying to figure out how to get to Slippery Little Suckers !

Finally found it and picked up some ADA Amazonia, Power Sand, Ferts & Driftwood. I was very happy when the guy who was serving me told me i could just buy some spoonfuls of the ADA ferts instead of buying whole bottles of them

Here is the package i brought home from SLS, i would like to thank Thanh for giving me some great advice on scaping and general use of ADA stuff.

To give you a idea of where the tank is sitting.

Following what iv read in 'The Style of ADA' i seperated the tank into sections using cardboard. This is to make it easier to keep the ADA Amazonia and the river sand seperate.

This is how the tank is looking ATM. Im not happy with stem plants at the back. I think i might buy a bunch of crypts to go in the back left and right corners and move most of the plants currently at the back.

HC & hairgrass is at the front so i hope that will fill in. Maybe some Echinodorus tenellus (Pigmy Chain) ? In the midground to hide the Bottom of the stem plants ?

i think you should try to hide the border seperating the decorative sand and amazonia so it will look more smooth. pebbles with moss or riccia tied to it is good for placing on the border to hide the line.

Yes it is T5 lighting, its 8x39W.

The front is very thin only about 1 inch deep but towards the back it slopes up to about 3-4 inches deep.

The HC should spread to cover the join of the sand and amazonia in time plus i will be adding some riccia stones as you suggested

The tank is quite tall, should be good for housing a couple of discus so they can swim around the top and the apistogrammas can have the bottom.
