Got chance to shoot my friend's viejita, but he didn't respond to the mirror trick. The female is the fiercer of the two, hopefully with more chance next week or so I will go shoot it again. Told my friend to put a mirror every few days to get him excited

    Simon,
That is really a sweet close-up.
Using the 180mm? can the canon 100mm get the same result?

yes Richard, but the eye ain't sharp , having shot so many butterflies and having to focus on the different eye structure, but fish is something different, now I have to re-adapt to fish eye

of course you can get the same result or even better on the 100mm, you just need time and some patience to wait for the right shot

hahaha I think quite a few of us are also in awe over his shots.
Use it as a inspiration to improve instead of being cowed by it,
Anyway, all the shifus here are very helpful and alway willing to
    help us improve.

Nice shot Simon. Eyes a bit blur like you say but can see all the skin details. Sweet!
