hi guys, some shots i took today of my crs and cherry.
i now have rougly 20 CRS mixture of B and As. 2 crs is pregnant and my 1 and only Black diamond is pregnant too.
cherry shrimps is getting more and more. first batch of shrimplets is already reaching adulthood. yesterday spotted another batch of day 1 shrimplets on my glass wall.
here are some pictures to share.

    group shot 1:
amazingly, this time my oto bravely came out to eat the nutrafin food, but still got harassed by my shrimps, so no choice but to stand aside and wait.

    group shot 2:
can still see oto still there after 10mins.

the only B grade CRS pregnant that came out. the other 2 are hiding. all my 3 B grade CRS/BDS that are pregnant have its white faded a lot.

went to buy another 5 piece of B grade CRS from gary bro (in AQ) and i was happy to find a baby CRS together with the other 5!

    Charcoal bamboo, shrimp's house.

my favourite CRS of all. one of my thickest white CRS I got (same piece as the one in my avatar).

anyway, if anybody has never seen before my CRS/cherry tank before, here[s a picture of it taken today.

Thanks for viewing. I was thinking if I should place a plate like what Radiance bro did for them to feed on.
anyway, I'm using fan only. chiller still in consideration. will see if my CR shrimplets is able to survive or not.
    comments are welcome!
    thanks!

You managed to breed grade A and B,S CRS in a fan cool tank?
That's great news to me I hope my grade B will do the same in my tank. (because always thought that they need a chiller cooled tank to breed)

I think at this time of the year CRS should be fine. But not too sure whether the fan can bring down the temp during the hot season.....
so I think you should not have any issues with the babies now...you still have time to decide...about 3 more months....get more Ang Pao.........then can go buy your chiller...

using money to buy chiller is 1 thing. but the heat you feel during the hot days and plus the heat coming out from the chiller will be like me in a big oven.
i have since drop the idea of chiller.
some things that turns me off whenever i think of chiller
    - hot days can be very warm and stuffy. with the heat contributed from the chiller. it get worst.
-buy 2nd hand chiller. anything wrong. got to buy external thermostat or spend another hundred dollors and send for repair.
-weather get hotter and hotter. chiller kicks in more often. you will see a big hike in your electric bill.
-parents will yell at me if home is too stuffy and warm or too high electic bills.

anyway. most of my pregnant crs have since release the shrimplets. spotted some crs shrimplets for the past few days. at size 0.1cm can see white and red colour already.

hope so.. anyway. i heard that if using fan to breed crs. only rougly 50% survival rate only. if say a crs female release 20 shrimplets. only 8 - 12 will survive and grow till adult. cause if you are using fan. you need to top up water. the changing of water parameters when topping up water might kill some shrimplets.

picture of shrimplets will try my best to take..
just leave it in the tank. adult wont hurt them.
they eat microsopic things among the moss.. till they grow around 0.5cm then they join in eating crs food i bought for them

I dont know whether this method will work for you.
what is your current temp? (example 26C?) then get a chiller and set timer during the day where there is no one at home to bring it down to 26C then evening time, use a timer to turn it off, at night we should be able to get 26-27C so it might be able to help a bit on the temp and the bills.

this is just a suggestion, it might not work, anyone ever tried might want to share.

Another is place your chiller near to a ventilated place, you will need to get long filter pipes and also those aircon tubing to prevent heat loss.
