hi, i got a bog wood which is about 3 ft long, when i soak it in my pile, only manage to soak half of the wood in water. suppose i need to soak the wood for at least two in order for it to sink in the water. thus will it work if i soak the first half for 2 week and second half for 2 week, so it completed the pre treatment or it still need for the whole bog to be soak in the water for 2 week instead of spilting it into 2 part.

    thanks

Why not boil the 1st half then the 2nd half to 'kill' any parasites and rid some of the tannic acid. After which put the whole wood into the tank to let it absorb water? (The process of sinking would be accelereated by the boiling) Some tannic acid would still leak though.
