maybe you can plant all your Micranthemum umbrosum at the back of your tank as it will out grow your hairgrass in terms of height.

By the way what is the red/green leave plant near the bogwood ?
    thanks

Thanks for the tip Chee Yong =) it makes alot of sense.

And yes Nicholas, that is the emerse form of Lobelia cardinalis.

The Ludwigia inclinata var . verticillata 'cuba' at the back is emerse form too. Just bought them from Teo's farm a few days back. Anyone has experience with them?

    Keep the comments coming!!

This tank looks great for a pair of apisto to breed in. Sufficient coverage .

Let the tank mature i'm sure it will look good.

They are pretty slow growers but after converting to submerse form, it will lose its purpleness and fine roots will be shooting out of the stems.

benetay: Thanks I will consider getting a nice pair to breed once my tank stabilized. I realized there are alot of people into apistoes again. I remember I was there when Biotope opened in Bukit Merah back in 2002 I think... time really flies.

Billy: Thanks to you too. Might have to do some replanting once it changes to submerged form i guess. The roots would be ugly.

Ken: Sorry, I don't know the name of the wood. I got it from NA at Thomson. Seems like its still leaching tannins. The pH will go crazy after about 4 days or so. Thats when i have to change water. Hope this problem will go away soon.

Thanks benkho =). But I personally find the wood rather distracting just hope my background plants grow tall soon and frame the wood from the back and between the branches.

The base looks pretty nice, but I am worried about the back of the scape. Although a little early to say this, but it seems the backscape is stuck between the "light" and the "lush", and knocks it a little off balance.

Perhaps with time the backscape becomes more defined according to your visions. Either have a little look or go for a more lush one, that's my 2 cents there.
