Keeping fish as pets can be a rewarding hobby.
Designing and maintaining your aquariums is a wonderful creative outlet.
Watching your fish swim around is both relaxing and fun.
As with all Peruvian imports, they have very fanciful trade names.
For the exact import locality, it is pretty unknown. Maybe from Rio Ampiyacu?
doubleace, yes he is from nks
valice, you sure about the river?
Looking back at my old photos, it should be Rio Nanay. The finnage can be spectacular!
This is my guy. Still alive but much bigger.

but are they body shape always like that?..
the thin type?....
even when we pump them with food.?
will their body be broad?
What's your definition of "broad"?
Like A.cacatuoides? Yes, they will when they age and are well fed.
hi yep my "broad" means like A.cacatuoides, or even better like A.viejita.
glad to hear that Apistogramma agassizii will have broad body if well fed.
no, agassizii will be turn broad body, it has to be the characteristic of the species, like caca/viejita/hongsloi, these species are broad body in nature. Aga/eliz/mendezi are considered slim
Yo Simon,
Very nice dorsal colours and orange head somemore.. its a steal.
Bet it will look even better after 1 month of conditioning.
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
ok got it. thanks for the explaination. i guess i more into those broad body type hmmm hongsloi.... but your Apistogramma agassizii 'Flamingo' is really nice
Yorkseng, I'm more worried about the female, she ain't got a chance to feed
Thanantosis, I too like broad body species, but agassizii has always been a favorite
yep due to their fins colour, agassizii is nice. and their tail is different too... nice
there is 1 type of agassizii that i love. the fire red. but real hard to get in singapore
after a week, now less shy, also both females are fine. Might want to introduce them into my 4ft soon
Simon,
Are you sure this is the same fish?
wow the tail color is beautiful
I should have bought this!![]()
