I dont understand why my cherrys are dying day by day while my CRS are still doing fine. Everyday, there will be a casualty. The water parameters are okay, anyone know any reason behind this?

Are you trying to ask us to guess? With one sentence like that, how can we give you any decent advice? Be a bit more descriptive and give us something to work with.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Maybe you can tell us what you did recently that may have caused the shrimp to start dying. Posting your water parameters may help too.

I did some re-scaping a couple of weeks ago, as for water parameters, I dont have any test kits with me right now. My CRS are fine, swimming and eating well just that my cherrys kept having casualty every now and then...

I dont think its of old age, because they are the shrimps that have grown up over the past few months only.

if the rescape caused disturbance to the substrate, there might be a spike in the parameters. I have seen online reports of shrimps dying when trimming in tank or rescaping is done.

    Just sharing some thoughts.

I'm under the impression that cherry shrimps are damn tough?
They've survived my co2 leaks, cannister breakdowns, straight from tap water changes and even frequent man handling! Hypothetically speaking...what are the chances CRS and cherry shrimps do NOT do well together? I've read about something similar as well but the post was something a little more vague like how with more CRS,cherries all disappeared? I too am new to mixing both species,in my case my cherries outnumber CRS probably 20-1? Just for information, how many Cherries and CRS did you begin with bryant?

Lucky you! I have roughly 200 cherries and only 10 CRS?
    Wanna do a trade? Lol~
Anyway,i still strongly believe that if your CRS are doing well, then there should not be a problem for your cherry shrimps!

    Cheers,
I watched the stars and predicted that your pH is too low for cherry. I maybe wrong, but that is my best guess I can make base on your input.

I would love to swap places with you. All except 1 of my CRS has gone to heaven for no reason (ie, water parameters look perfect) over a 4 month period while my cherries are surviving and breeding. Now I got 40+ cherries and 1 CRS. I practically give up on CRS, though I may be tempted to try again with cheaper grades.

In the 1st place, what is your PH now?
