Thanks Simon for organising this trip. Thanks Billy for the wonderful time, you really crack me up!

As usual, no keepers just normal shots to share.
Butterflies wasn't cooperative, weather was playing a trick on us. Sun decided not to come out.

I'm sure Simon & Billy got much better shots . Awaiting their release.

Comments are greatly welcome. Still very green in this area.

    Shame again

    Cheers!

very nice on the exposure, that is where a shorter macro helps. I had to used double your ISO to shoot mine. However, wasn't too please with the result. First few times shooting with the 40D, the 580ex doesn't work well it the new body compared to the 20D, need to fiddle around and adjust to the new camera. Need to compare with another 40D, suspect something not very right with it. Normally, when I thought a ISO200 should do the trick in a situation, turns out I had to dial ISO 500 instead, hope it isn't a faulty body.

    over exposed, very bad lighting.

    Cool

If you guys using 2-3 flashes are complaining.... how can using I using D70s have better pictures... . Anyway, here is one recovered from a nearly total dark picture...

Simon's 回头是岸 really crack me up though. Not to mention the sudden heavy rain that swept through the area barely minutes after we reached the canteen.

nice shots, like the second picture, it's a mossie?

Simon, why did you say the second picture was overexposed? To me it looks fine, details on the wing are nice and sharp.

billy, that's a bad picture? wow the good ones must really rocks!

Yes its a mossie that fed on me i think. "Billy keep shouting shoot shoot" Okay so i did shoot. There is quite a few hotspot.

We spend so long on the lady bug but none of mine turn out ideal. Will like to try some butt shooting around the west.

I'm quite happy with one good shot in a trip. So far it has been quite good. Quite please to learn something new, open up my eyes and views on butterflies. Always thought they were like flying insects that isn't worth to take another look.

Simon your second picture looks good on my mac. Which part is it over exposed?

    Thanks guys!
    Cheers!

Thats nit picking. I will say it's already very nice!
I like the small white butterfly. Too bad it just didn't like landing and it's jumpy.
    Cheers!

I got no idea, i was swarm by information, firstly i heard about drizzle mentioning about monkey's urine after which it was lizard's urine. Then the above should be bird's dropping if i heard correctly. Throughout the trip i was grinning.
    Cheers!

Wow, looks like you guys have a nice trip. I keep hearing ladybird here and there how come I don't see any ladybird pictures here?

    Billy,
You can shoot with 2 flashes also. Just set your D70 to commander mode and use your SB800 as slave and your on-board flash as another flash. Or next time when we go on the same trip we can set up 2 flashes on tripod and use commander mode. This way we both have 3 flashes. By the way, I love your wolf spider shot. Cool!

The wolf spider was extremely friendly, not moving much. But we got wet trying to prone in the area... Anyway, you wouldn't believe how dim it was at 10am in the morning....

Okay here is the Ladybug not very nice.
As you can see the flash reflection, both the flashes were held on the left and right of the ladybird by Simon & Billy.

    Cheers!

    Wow Bene,
Nice ladybird shot! I know this problem with shooting beetle is that their shell tends to reflect light. I was discussing that with Simon the other day too. Still don't know how to overcome the problem. I even tried shooting without flash with slow shutter before at some beetle but the shell still reflect the lights of the environment.
