Any ideas how to work around this problem. If not I would have to give away the silver tips.
Hi Guys,
I have 5 silver tipped and 9 cardinal tetras that I am thinking ofr relocating into my new 3 feet planted tank. Currently, these 2 species are in separate tanks but I have to agree that the silver tipped tetras are fins nippers. Don't want them to nip the fins of my cardinal tetras when in the 3 feet tanks.
Any idea how to go around this problem?

I would suggest you give the fin nippers away. Even in a larger group, they may still exhibit the same tendencies to nip at the fins of the other inhabitants of the tank.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
