Hi guys, I know a couple of you are using the above surface skimmer - I have 2 questions:

    1. there is a inner tube at the bottom that I cn screw out or in the main tube. how far in or out must I screw it?

    2. what is a good position to place the skimmer - i.e. how deep below the surface?

Thanks - really at a lost.

I don't know if i'm using the above brand surface skimmer, the ratio i put with 'argaration' bottom:top 60:40 .

where you should put, usually a good place will be diagonally across where your outlet is but even thou many people just put it near the outlet.

    my 2cts worth.
    Cheers!

Not too far down till the top of the clear part of the skimmer can't function. it's up to you actually there isn't hard and fast rule in which how deep it should go, for me i push the skimmer down as deep as it can go until the clear part just barely stays intact with the skimmer body.

    Hope this help =)
    cheers!

adjust it low enough to cater for the evaporation loss.
basically, the clear part must be able to move from max tank water level to lowest water level. (lowest due to evaporation loss).

The screw thingy is for adjusting your skimming power. Screw it upwards for more power and down for less. As different filter may have different flow rate, it is necessary for you to judge your own how much to adjust the skimmer.
    Cheers!!
