Bro, my ph is near 6 but almost all my horn snails are fine after 2 months and grow bigger. As long as they have enough to eat, they should be ok. Try butterfly sucker also.

Hi Yck,
I was told by friends and NA's boss to use Yamatos shrimps to clear. Get those big and (non-pregnant ones if you intend to remove them later).
Some try starve the Yamatos before releasing them.
I guess you can try to clear as much while relying on the shrimps to clear for you. You can use a toothbrush or small brush to twirl around.
Some have successful results with Plecos, SAE, Platy or with commercial Hair Algae removal.
Hope this help. Good luck.
Cheers! Happy weekend to all.![]()
try to manage algae by controlling it at the nutrient level, instead of getting snails or amano shrimps.
I use a small sponge wrap in fishing string with those wooden chopsticks you find at food court and made my own scraper before a water change.
a used credit card or anything of the same material. Sponge too risky, if a gravel get struck on it, it is going to scratch the glass.
Use some old discount cards do scrape off during water change.
Its one of the faster way of removing them

there is no way to recover scratch from a glass. from what i know aquarium tank come with 3 types : 1) pure glass 2) acrylic plastic 3) mixture of glass and acrylic
for the above 3 pure glass is more " resistant" to scratches follow by 3) and 2) . once u got scratch in the glass , the best u can do is to use silicone to cover it . its abit ugly somehow i find u can prevent the scratch from growing. hope that helps
