"WATCH OUT!!! FALLEN ROCKS!!!" I was shocked when my climbing team mate shouted at me. Two big rocks rolling down on the slope toward my direction. At that moment, I was carrying my camera & without thinking twice, I jumped to the slope on the right side to avoid the fallen rocks. It was raining at that time & the slope was very slippery & my whole body slipped down after my first attempt to jump & my pants & shirts were covered with mud!
I thought something bad was going to happen to me next!
"Pang!" The fallen rocks stuck on a hole in front of a giant rock about 2 meters away from me. Well, I quickly said Thankyou to the God for answering my prayer! ( I prayed for safety journey to explore in the jungle)
January 27, 2008. It was a rainy day. Three crazy people went to explore in a misty mountain called Gunung Bawang. I was so wet & fell down a few times in the slippery trail. Eventhought we're at the altitude about 2,600 feet above sea level, I was shivering because I felt so cold & hungry.
The most experienced team mate leaded us to the summit by hiking along the seasonal stream. I was the last one in the team. After the rocks rolling down, I stayed very far distance from the 1st & 2nd team mate.
Besides the slippery trail, we had to beware of the traps left by the hunter.
We found a lot of Nepenthes hirsuta in that area. We're quite disappointed that there are no other species of pitcher plant growing in that area except N. hirsuta. I hardly could take any pictures in the raining day. The only plant that "cheered" me up was Dendrobium cinerium. That was my first time seeing the flower of this beautiful orchid!
