    Dear all,

Wish to learn more about golden gene, does anyone has any golden gene pictures to share?

So far, I only see full white golden gene. How is the colour of the golden gene CRS or BDS??

    1. yellowish thick white?
    2. Or transparent yellowish?

How to tell whether this CRS cary golden gene? Or basically we can't?

    Thanks.

I would also like to know.

I have read in threads that high grade CRS will run into golden genes. What does this mean? In a post by a reputable breeder, he said that a particular japanese line will not run into golden genes, again what does this mean?

Is golden genes from another shrimp species? I read somewhere that to get high grades, they are cross bred with other species like new bee shrimp. Is this true?

Golden bees/snow whites/golden whites are names for white/golden morph. How they come about Im not too sure. However, info I have gathered so far from various crossing tells me the following...

They come in a variation of white thickness. Its like how we grade crs. High grade ones have thick white heads with thick white body while lower grade ones comes in a series of broken white bands, golden/yellowish colour.

Golden offsprings of (golden white black diamond) cross are usually of better white thickness. I have done a cross to see which gene is more dominant and guess what- Black diamonds are weaker! I was surprised and amazed that I have more golden offsprings than black diamond. Probably this is due to the fact that the black diamond that i use to crossed do already carry golden genes.

Crossing with a nice white golden does not and will not necessary dilute the white coloration of a normal crs or bds in any way- not that i have observed so far. Whether or not this crossing will bring about yellow effect on the whiteness of the shrimp is another subjective and debatable issue...

Well, all in all, I guess whether a CRS with golden genes is good or bad is very subjective.

I believe different hobbyist will share different points of view.

For me, if the crs is of good coloration- in terms of white thickness and red coloration, its a good piece, disregarding this guy carry golden genes or not.

    hi,

saw those crs you are selling, generally the white is thin and the red look pale. Is it because of gold genes?
