Anybody tested your CO2 cylinder after years of service?

Hi guys! Was trying to figure out if you guys actually send your CO2 cylinders to places like SOXAL for testing after using it for 1 or more years? Is it neccessary? Anybody top up CO2 cylinders at C328 auntie shop? How is the service? [

eerrhh that would be me....i sent my cylinders to soxal for top-up and testing. Testing I feel is very important as we are dealing with a high pressure hardware which if not within safety specs, can be very dangerous for the people in the house.

at soxal, they will test for cylinder cracks, split, rust, metallic worbs,...next vacuming the water which is in the tank. next will be the screw theading if it has been damaged and tightness of the main valve, and lastly the safety bleed valve.

that would be the hydrostatic test right ? and how much would they ( soxal ) charge

If I'm going to test, It's b'cos I want to top up at SOXAL. And I would only test it once in the tanks lifetime (requirement of SOXAL)

cks, if you top up at soxal the testing comes with it.....lazy to check my invoice, if i am not wrong 5kg or less, is less than 15 bucks inclusive of testing.

only thing is that soxal is in Jurong...however there is a sub filling plant at Serangoon North Ave 1, have to call to find out if they fill CO2 there

thanks david . i thought so that they will conduct a test on your co2 bottle the first time you fill up with them so what about the rest of the suppliers. do they have our bottles tested before they are refilled.

cks...no problem....i have yet to find another refiller who can do the testing and dare put their company's name tag of certification on the CO2 cylinder. Soxal test the cylinder ever time they fill it.....and when one collects it back, there is a nice red and white soxal tag around the cylinder...best to bring in the morning....for those driving, try not to put the cylinder at the back of the trunk...if it is too warm, they will wait for it to cool down to normal room temp before attempting the testing....this means one waits longer for collection

David,
Confirm with you, SOXAL will test everytime they top up or they test only once and the following topping up does not requires testing. To my understanding, they test only once for a tank.
