Questions on Sturisoma

Hi all,
just wondering whether Sturisoma is suitable to be kept in a planted tank?

1)What does it feed on?
2)Size when fully grown?

YEs. It is possible to place a Sturisoma species in a planted tank. It is like otos, which is constantly grazing in the tank for algae, and left over bits of fish food in the tank.

Largest I've seen can reach about 15cm or more. Nowadays, small juveniles can be easily bought from LFS, and they take a long time to hit those lengths.

i'm keeping 2 sturisoma in my 4x2x2 planted and they're doing pretty well

c328 does stock the small ones regularly, but the larger ones don't come in very often. I think polyart may still have a couple of large ones left, but i haven't been there since early last week so i can't be 100% sure.

From Lavender, your nearest shops which I know stocks those fishes are NA and Biotope.
If you want specialised Pleco shops, there is NKS in Kovan and Fish Haven in Telok Blangah.

There should be two species that are regularly avialable.
S. panamensa and S. auruem.
The first gets quite large at 7.9" SL and the other 5.9" SL.
Feedback is that they are rather difficult to tell apart.
I am assuming that mine are S. auruem as they are about the 5/6" size and breeding...
