Its normal to have the smell think is due to sulplur in it? Anyway, just follow the dosage if you are mixing with new water first before you fill your tank or just dose the amount for your total volume of tank if you are directly hose in the water into the tank. Its very concentrated, so do not overdose by 3x.

The instructions are on the Seachem website, www.seachem.com, including some notes on the smell, overdosing and FAQ.

Overdosing is usually not a problem. I am very generous with my SeaChem Prime after a major water change.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

I just need to be a little more careful in dosing it, I don't want to overdose. I'm currently using around half a capful for my red pail of water, is it enough?

yap, SEA CHEM prime is the best and economical. I bought 6-7 bottles and put all into a single 2L bottle and using them for about 8 months already. Think can last me at least 2 years.

How much do you use each time when you add to your tap water?

For my 300l tank, I dose 10 ml each before and after hose in 30-40% new water weekly and no problem at all with my fishes and shrimps.
