Manage to get hold of a conductivity meter.
    It comes with 3 range

    Low range - 0 - 200
    Mid Range 0 to 2000
High range 0 to 20 000 micro siemens

Anyone can tell me the difference?
Which range shld I select for the aquarium?

    Thanks alot

I think the usual range for our aquarium should be 0 - 400 bah, sometimes exceed 400, especially for tangayikan tank.

BTW, may I know where you got yours? I am thinking of getting one too.

    Hi

The conductivity probe does not belong to me. I borrowed it from a friend working in a water bottling company.

I guess you can buy it over the internet, an accurate one would be quite costly.

Used it on some brands of bottled water here in Indonesia

    Aqua - 645 micro siemens
    Indomaret Cleo - 441
    Ades - 451
Air Ox (supposed to be distilled water) - 14
Tap water in Indonesia Jakarta - 5800!!

This means.... short of using deionisation or RO, there is no way to get soft water here in Jakarta!

Will try testing SGP water when i go back.

Still trying to figure out ...

Test in the mid range b/w 0 to 2000. Freshwater tanks usually will hit somewhere in the sub 1000 range on the upper end. Once you go past that, you enter brackish tank area.

I tested Sg water by the TDS meter which gives 60. This equates to about 120 microsiemens.
