Cabinet ideas for 60x30x36 tank

Anyone have nice ideas where to get affordable cabinet for a tank of the above mentioned size?

I am looking for a zen looking cabinet to fit my tank. I understand its very small and tankmakers are quoting me more than 8 blue notes to make one

maybe small tank owners can share where can i find a nice cabinet? thanks I will appreciate if pictures and location and price is provided

Used to face the problem years ago when i only had 1 single tank.
Managed to find an alternative over at Ikea. They have a huge range to choose from and most won't burn a hole in you pocket. Though you have to be pretty anal when it comes to materials etc as i bought mine in a hurry,as i only bothered about aesthetics i did not factor in weight,water spillage etc...Eventually my cabinet had to make way after a year + due to moisture build up and my wood rotted. I've even seen ADA "styled" tops that you find in their catalogs,though the one i came across months ago was more suitable for a nano tank! But hey,look around...You never know what you might find there?

I got my 2ft cabinet at one of the Pasir Ris fishfarm for 2 blue notes. Cash & Carry. You may want to try your luck there.

8 blue notes is expensive. I custom-made my 2ft cube (tank + cabinet) for around that amount.

Do take note of the wood quality when shopping around. Cabinet made of chipboard are not durable. Lifespan is even shorter if it gets wet accidentally.

i was comtemplating about buying from the swedish furniture company because their chipwood as well. its sad that the pricing is so high for 2ft cabinet. giving me headache

Actually still alright? For me ever since the previous incident i now have the habit of making additional modifications like plastic sheet over surface etc to prevent accidents like i did previously. Most extreme case was using a lacquer spray on the furniture legs! But i do agree that you really have to do plenty of "surveys" before you settle on one. Ikea does have better quality ones as opposed to the cheaper chipwood based furniture. Though...they might cost a little more?But hey,it beats your initial quote of 8 blue notes any day!

really? i was quote a chengai stand for slightly lesser than 6 blue notes. i might settle for it considering chiller need ventilations and cabinet might not be the best ventilated place for it. however, i am still open to nice money saving ideas

I got a very solid wood cabinet from Ireus Living. They have a few shops in the various suburban malls. Whilst not exactly cheap, it was made of solid wood and can definitely take 80 kg on the top. This chain of shops also have 50% sale many times throughout the year.

Ahh I have the same predicament as you.

You could buy a simple chipboard shoe cabinet for less then 1 blue note. Then, proceed to some timbre/wood sellers and buy chengai wood to reinforce the inside of the stand. They could cut it to size for you for a nominal fee. Mine lasted for 4 years before the veneer peeled off and I dumped it. Mainly due to aesthetic reason.

Or you could consider getting Juwel cabinet. I was quoted around 4 blue notes for a 2.5 ft tank. However, their cabinet is oso chipboard based... ...

Lastly, You could consider getting a metal stand and purchase plywood board to cover it. You would need some basic carpentry skills to fix up the door though.

Any other feasible solutions?

Bro, 1 suggestion, why don't you try those display cabinets during the Indonesia fair. Had been to a few times and find that they may have what you need at a fraction of the price. The wood used are typically Teak and I personally find it very solid. Why don't you consider this option.

they have a few every year at expo. Normally at hall 5 or 6.

oh...cant wait that long...i already ordered a cabinet from one of the tankmakers cost me 7 blue notes...its quite expensive but at least its solid plywood not chipwood...i dare not go for chipwood after hearing some bros experiences here ..safety first

You can actually just place your tank on a normal metal stand. Then got a carpenter to make a wooden cabinet around it. Sort of like covering up the metal stand. Like tht you need not worry about the weight factor.
