it should be the c02 mix. 75% water change is alot. Did you use aged water?

i had a monster leak of my DIY CO2 mix into my tank yesterday. changed 75% water and redone the CO2 mix. found all my shrimps dead 30 mins ago. dead shrimps: yamato shrimps and those cheap cheap ones all wiped out.. now my tank is shrimp-less.. could it be the CO2 mix which killed them?? or its the water change that killed them??

Oh gosh,
we feel for your loss.. that's rather terrible. I guess yamatoes although hardy are quite sensitive to the unsettled water parameters as well. Hope that your GAEs are fine though.
Cheers, Happy Lunar New Year!

my GAEs are not feeding on my algae.. but they are still active..

A check valve is not much good with the flow the same way as the CO2, a bubble counter plus a check valve would be better.
I suggest you don't put in any new fish until you do mutiple water changes, as your CO2 formula has already contaminated the water.

i have been changing water everyday since the leak.. which means a total of 3 times including today. and now theres a serious algae bloom in my tank
